Transforming Recovery with Music Therapy: Join us in advancing integrative health research.

We are dedicated to advancing innovative, integrative approaches to health and recovery. Our current focus is supporting a groundbreaking clinical trial:

“A Pilot Crossover Study to Determine Modality of Music and a Randomized Trial of Music Therapy Adjunctive to Usual Care in the Treatment of Substance Use Disorder”
About the Clinical Trial
Current Status
1 / IRB Approval
On March 7, 2025, we received received approval from an Institutional Review Board (IRB) for our pilot study to research how different types of music affect brainwave patterns. IRB approval is a critical step in conducting ethical research involving human participants, ensuring that the study is designed to protect their rights, safety, and well-being. This approval confirms that our research meets rigorous ethical standards and follows regulatory guidelines, allowing us to move forward with confidence in the integrity and safety of our study.
2 / Pilot Study Funding Request
On March 14, 2025, we submitted a letter of intent to request funding for a randomized clinical trial that will investigate the impact of music on individuals with opioid use disorder. This study aims to compare the effects of two distinct approaches to music therapy against a control condition of silence, evaluating their influence on key factors related to recovery, including relapse rates, motivation for recovery, cravings, and mood states.

If funded, this research will contribute valuable scientific insights into the role of music as a complementary therapy for substance use disorder. By using a rigorous, randomized study design, the trial will help determine whether specific types of music interventions can enhance recovery outcomes and provide a non-pharmacological tool to support individuals struggling with addiction.
